In any dispute the parties have choices, ranging from doing nothing, having informal discussions, negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation.

At DCO Consulting Solutions we believe that many disputes can be resolved through the Alternative Dispute Resolution process of mediation.

 

Mediation allows parties to work together with an interest-based mediator to resolve conflict.  The advantage of mediation is that the process gives power to the parties to come to a mutually agreed upon resolution that meets their needs.

 

Information provided to a Mediator remains confidential, they are neutral and they do not take sides, provide advice or solutions.  A Mediator provides a safe environment that helps allow the parties to change their interactions from negative and destructive to positive and constructive.

 

The mediator will assist the participants to generate their potential solutions based on their expressed interests or criteria and assist the participants to evaluate their options.  Solutions are voluntary by both parties.  Parties that arrive at a mutually agreed upon solution tend to follow the agreement as they were a part of crafting the solution.
